2 Persimmons by 30.5 inches

Hello, I hope everyone is doing fine. I have recently finished a 5" by 5" painting of persimmons, it's my wife and daughter first persimmons, so I made a remembrance of it for them.
The  x 30.5"  in the painting is from the 24.5 " by 30.5" plywood that I'm often using to mount new canvasses, it looks fine for me to leave it there.
The paintings that I am posting here aren't intended for sale, but rather plain sharing of what makes me feel happy after days of hard works. I love staring at them at the wall and it reminds me from time to time to do more.

Museum trip

Last October we went to the Philippine National Museum and its my first time with my family to go there. It's my chance to see some Filipinos finest gems that I long to see since I've started to paint.

The entrance to the two great 19th century Filipino masters

Juan LunaSpoliarium

Juan Luna's signature for his huge Spoliarium painting.

Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo  - Assassination of Governor Bustamante

Just for the scale on how big the painting is.

Detail of Félix Resurrección Hidalgo the Assasination of Governor Bustamante.
Then we went to the other rooms of Luna and Hidalgo's Gallery. The rooms have a number of Juan Luan's small sketches .

Félix Resurrección Hidalgo - Don Luis Perez Dasmarinas
Juan Luna - Una Bulaqueña

Luna's study

I really like this one, the actual painting looks 3D and detailed.

Amorsolo's unfinish painting.

Amorsolo's 1956 portrait of Mrs. Banks

Our National Hero Jose Rizal's Mother's Revenge ( tera cotta, 1894)

Jose Rizal - Bust of Governor Ricardo Carnicero

Carlos Francisco's painting.

Vicente Manansala's painting.

Victorio Edades's - The Sketch
We are just glad that we went earlier and got amazed, lots of people and students arrived in the afternoon, so we went to the other building to further mesmerized by the museum artifact collections.

Before entering upon the study of the component parts of the body, it is of the highest importance that the large planes of which the minor forms are a part should be thoroughly understood. A mental grasp of them in the large is essential to strong draftsmanship. - John H. Vanderpoel

First Post

Watered  (51/2 x 7 in)

Welcome! to my blog and this is my first post. It's a stormy afternoon and I found my partner's new plants in a glass and I thought it is interesting to paint.  Ended up here. Not much, but hope you like it.
